Undressed - Maybelline "The Nudes" Palette Review

http://www.maybelline.com/Products/Eye-Makeup/Eye-Shadow/The-Nudes-Palette.aspx
When I was asked by my friend Krissy to review Maybelline's "The Nudes" eye shadows I jumped at the opportunity to add to my plethora of palettes I already own. I stopped buying drug store eye shadows in my late twenties because I felt that the application of them was inconsistent and the pigments were not as rich as I would like, so I was a little skeptical.  I know that I am late to this party since "The Nudes" is not a new item and has already been reviewed a hundred times, but I was asked and wanted to deliver.
The first thing I have to say about the Maybelline nude palette is that it is affordable. I purchased mine at Target just under $10.00. Since I have so many other palettes including Bobbi Brown's Nude On Nude, all the Urban Decay Naked palettes, the Too Faced Chocolate Bar and almost every brown that MAC has ever made I told my daughter Riley that she could have the palette after I tried it out for this review. Ummm... sorry Riley I am keeping it! For $9.99 expect it to show up in your stocking this year.

I guess the above really says it all. I love it and highly recommend it. In these two pictures of me I am wearing only the colors from the collection. The application of the shadows are smooth and has a lot of blend-ability. I won't compare it to the other palettes in my make-up toolbox because it isn't a knock off of any other range of colors out there. It stands alone with its twelve beautiful versatile shades. For that reason, it will stay in my collection of eye shadows and be used quite often. It is small enough that it fits in my purse to go everywhere with me so that touch ups can be made throughout the day and if for some reason I end up in a tornado being whisked away to a far off land I have all the colors I need. Or even a scenario close to that and I will be prepared. It could happen, right?

Below are two great reviews and tutorials on Maybelline's "The Nudes" palette that I came across on YouTube. Click on the pictures to be sent to their videos.

Beauty Broadcast with Emily Noel's video is wonderful because she explains how Maybelline has made it so the palette can be broken down into quads, trios, and duos. Very smart, Maybelline.

Alison Henry from AlisonLovesJB shows a heavier look with false eyelashes and cat eyeliner that I definitely want to try. I have heard of the tape trick that she does in the video and wondered if it really works. It is a genius idea that I will try now that I have seen it in action.
